Substitute Matt Derbyshire scores twice as England U21 hammer Norway 5-0 in a friendly match at the Komplett.no Arena. Fraizer Campbell, Tom Huddlestone and Adam Johnson are also on target for Stuart Pearce’s men.

Liverpool face Espanyol in friendly

Liga strugglers Espanyol will play Liverpool on August 2 to unveil their new 40,000 seater Cornella-El Prat stadium. The venue is about 5km west of their current home at Barcelona’s Olympic Stadium on the hill of Montjuic.

Schalke sack Rutten

Schalke 04 sack coach Fred Rutten following a run of poor results this season. Schalke finished third in the Bundesliga last season but are now eighth, 12 points off the pace. They have also been eliminated from the German Cup and UEFA Cup.

Ukraine lose forward for England clash

Ukraine forward Artem Kravets is ruled out of next week’s World Cup qualifier against England with a thigh injury. The 19-year-old Dynamo Kiev man is replaced by experienced Shakhtar Donetsk striker Evgen Seleznev for the Group Six match at Wembley Stadium on April 1.
