Russia 2-0 Azerbaijan

Goals from Roman Pavlyuchenko and Konstantin Zyryanov give Russia a 2-0 World Cup qualifying win over Azerbaijan at the Luzhniki stadium, Moscow. Spurs striker Pavlyuchenko put the hosts ahead on 32 minutes while Zenit St Petersburg winger Zyryanov sealed the win on 71 minutes.

An injury-time goal from Siphiwe Tshabalala gives South Africa a 2-1 win over Norway in a friendly at At Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace in Rustenburg. Bernard Parker put the hosts ahead on seven minutes before Blackburn winger Morten Gamst Pedersen levelled for Norway 20 minutes later.
