Toyota are set to announce their withdrawal from Formula One after this year at a press conference on Wednesday.

Toyota Motor Corp pulls out of Formula One racing. Toyota, the world’s largest carmaker, was the last Japanese team left in the sport following Honda’s withdrawal last December to cut costs amid a severe market downturn.

Pirelli has ruled out replacing Bridgestone as Formula One tyre supplier from 2011. Bridgestone Corp, the sole supplier since 2007, announced on Monday it would not renew its contract after the end of the 2010 season. Michelin withdrew after the 2006 season.

Chrysler has put its motorsports program, which includes NASCAR, under review as part of a restructuring announced on Wednesday, but does not plan to cut spending at this time.
